Fly Kites Made for Corrales Art Studio Tour Art Project

C.A.S.T. supports art programs that foster creativity as a way of thinking and communicating through visual and performing arts. This year's theme is the "Flight of Art."

Students from Corrales Elementary School and Cottonwood Schoolwill produce kites for the CAST gallery student art exhibit. Cathy Veblen and Paul Tenoso will present a talk on totems, plus kite festival videos from India and Japan. The couple will also talk about Haiku and give out sample haikus. The students will select their own totem, write a Haiku, paint and write all on their kite paper.  before constructing the kites.  After three school visits and the gallery weekend, the kites are returned to the school for flight during recess.

“Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more.”
